Mid Sussex Food Partnership is a network of social food providers and organisations, increasing food sustainability and security for communities across the area. Our aim is to reduce hunger, food poverty and food waste, whilst increasing community resilience, food production and distribution. We want to help all residents to easily access affordable, nourishing food. From food banks and pantries to community fridges and cafes, our network supports people in crisis and works to build long-term solutions to food insecurity.

We support groups by:

  • supporting our network of food banks, pantries and community fridges to deliver their essential work
  • helping all member groups to build their capacity, skills and sustainability, through hosting forums, networking, peer support, skill sharing, and training.

We support communities by:

  • sharing information so people can access food when in crisis
  • bringing local communities together around food, to reduce social isolation and build skills
  • valuing the lived experiences of people who have faced food insecurity.
  • Support people in need with holistic approach to deliver a whole assistance

We support partners by:

  • working with local statutory organisations and other parties, to make fair access to food a priority in local decision making
  • collaborating with other Food Partnerships to contribute to best practice about food security issues.
